Sodality

Our Lady of Mercy Sodality will host their Annual Bingo on Saturday, January 20th. Doors will open at 6:00 with Bingo starting @ 7:00 pm.  Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.  Tickets will go on sale starting January 6th.

Men's Discernment Retreat

Cardinal Wuerl invites men in their 20s, 30s or 40s who are open to a call to the priesthood to attend a discernment retreat led by priests of the Archdiocese of Washington.  The retreat will be held on the weekend of February 2-4, 2018, at Saint John Paul II Seminary in Washington, D.C.  The weekend will offer time away from your daily routine and provide an opportunity for prayer and reflection to examine God's call.  There is no cost to attend.  Registration is now open at www.dcpriest.org - Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. Permanent deacons are ordained clergy who have received the Sacrament of Holy Orders.  Deacons are called to a special ministry of charity through which they assist the needy, the hungry, the sick, the homeless, the imprisoned, immigrants and others.  As minister of God's Word, deacons proclaim the Gospel at Mass, preach, and teach.

John Paul II National Shrine


SECOND ANNUAL HOLY FAMILY CELEBRATION
Join fellow Catholic couples and families for a Holy Family Celebration on Saturday, February 17 from 1:30pm to 6:30pm at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine.  This half-day celebration will feature an inspiring talk for couples by nationally recognized writer and speaker Msgr. Charles Pope, Mass and Consecration to the Holy Family, and fun catechesis for children and teens.  The cost of attendance is $15 per couple and $30 for a family of three or more, which includes a meal after Mass.  Register at: www.holyfamilycelebration.eventbrite.com ; This event is sponsored by the Archidocese of Washington, the DC State Council of the Knights of Columbus, and the Saint John Paul II National Shrine. 

TEA & A ROSARY FOR MOTHERS
The Shrine invites you to join our new apostolate , "Tea and rosary for Mothers."  These mornings take place once a month from 9:45am to 12:00pm and include a short presentation, lively discussions over breakfast, and meditating upon the mysteries of the Rosary.  Babysitting and activities for young children (ages 2-12) are offered throughout the morning so moms can enjoy the conversation and have an opportunity to go to confession.  Everyone is welcome to stay for Mass at 12:00pm.  For information and to RSVP, visit: teaandarosary.eventbrite.com ; May Mary keep you under her mantle until we see you at our next gathering.

TRUE IDENTITY IN CHRIST - A YOUNG ADULTRETREAT
Looking for time away from all the busyness in your life?  For only $20, join other young adults January 27 & 28 at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine for a retreat sponsored by the Archidiocese of Washington featuring: conferences by Dominican priests, small group reflections, Eucharistic Adoration, confession, daily time for personal prayer, and Mass.  Registration is required and can be done on our Facebook page.  Please note this is not an overnight retreat.  Sessions on Saturday will take place 10:00am and 9:30pm and on Sunday from 10:00am to 2:00pm.  Snacks, along with lunch and dinner on Saturday will be provided.  Start 2018 with a renewed understanding of your true identity in Christ.
